What is SwimSafer?
SwimSafer is a certificate that shows your child knows how to swim and how to stay safe in the water. It has six levels: Stages 1, 2 and 3, then the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. Each level has its own requirements.
The six levels
Each level builds on the one before:
- Stage 1: water confidence and basic safety for beginners.
- Stage 2: fundamental strokes and more water confidence.
- Stage 3: advanced technique plus survival and rescue skills.
- Bronze, Silver and Gold: progressive awards for swimming proficiency and water safety, with Gold the highest.
Can my child go straight to Gold?
Yes, most definitely. You don't have to start at Stage 1: your child can work towards whichever level suits their ability and your goals.
Why parents choose SwimSafer
The main perk is that a child with SwimSafer can be excused from the primary school swimming programme. Beyond that, it gives lessons a clear structure and gives your child real milestones to aim for. Whether to pursue it comes down to your own preference.
How lessons work towards each level
Your coach works through the skills each level requires: water confidence and floating at Stage 1, strokes and endurance at Stages 2 and 3, and the swimming proficiency and water-safety skills of Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each stage page explains what that level covers in detail.
Not sure where your child fits? Book the $28 trial, and the coach will see what they can already do.
Learning SwimSafer at your condo
Lessons are 45 minutes, with never more than four children in a class and a certified, trained coach. WhatsApp us your child's current level and we'll suggest where to start.
